This year, Legends of Housing: Blueprints, Boardrooms & Boss Moves will feature a dynamic, female-driven panel celebrating the achievements, leadership, and impact of women shaping the future of the residential building industry.

Join us for an inspiring and engaging conversation that highlights the successes of these industry leaders while thoughtfully exploring the moments, challenges, and decisions that shaped their paths. Through candid storytelling and real-world insight, this discussion will go beyond the highlight reel to offer meaningful perspective and connection.

Spend the evening reflecting on the industry's evolution as our panellists share their journeys—celebrating wins, navigating challenges, and offering insights into a changing market and the future of housing.


ANGIE NORMAN
President, Westwood Cabinetry


Angie Norman is the President of Westwood Cabinetry, leading one of Western Canada’s most respected cabinetry manufacturers with a clear focus on quality, innovation, and customer experience. With a deep understanding of both operations and design, Angie has played a key role in shaping Westwood’s growth across retail, dealer, and multi-family markets.

Under her leadership, Westwood has expanded its reach across Canada and the United States, delivering cabinetry solutions at scale while maintaining a strong commitment to craftsmanship and service. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, fostering long-term partnerships, and continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of homeowners, builders, and developers.

Angie brings a practical, forward-thinking perspective to the housing industry, with a focus on how thoughtful design, efficient manufacturing, and strong collaboration can improve both the building process and the end-user experience.

Beyond her role at Westwood, Angie served as Board Chair of Sanctuary Lutheran Church from 2019 to 2025, reflecting her commitment to community leadership and meaningful impact beyond business.


RENEE MERRIFIELD
CEO, Troika Developments


Renée Merrifield is the founder and CEO of Troika, a Western Canadian real estate and development firm known for building sustainable, community-focused projects across four provinces. Since launching the company in the late 1990s, she has led Troika to become a recognized leader in purpose-built rentals, master-planned communities, and urban innovation. 

Renée holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool and was Valedictorian of her first master’s program at age 21. In 2015, she represented Canada as a delegate to the United Nations, contributing to global discussions on sustainability. 

From 2020 to 2024, she served as the MLA for Kelowna-Mission, holding key critic roles in Environment, Innovation, and Citizen Services. In 2024, she was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her contributions to public service and country. 

A three-time WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, and Business in Vancouver’s Most Influential Woman in Business, Renée continues to serve on the boards of First West Credit Union and the BC Business Council. She is a passionate advocate for housing, health, water stewardship, and women’s leadership. 


SUE WASTELL
President, Wastell Homes

Sue Wastell is Co-President of Wastell Homes and is responsible for overseeing every facet of the home-building process, from sales and design to advertising and land acquisition.

Sue currently serves as Past President of CHBA National and was the Chair of CHBA’s Urban Council for five years. She has made important strides towards developing workable policies to deal with housing affordability, always reminding policymakers locally, provincially, and federally of the impacts of their decisions. Sue has made this a major focus of her advocacy efforts; with her own children coming into adulthood, she wants to ensure that home ownership isn’t out of reach for Canada’s youth.

Sue also serves as a Past-President and Board Member of the London Home Builders’ Association (LHBA), where she spearheads a number of important initiatives to improve the building industry, including housing affordability and the skilled trades shortage, acting as a conduit between the municipality and LHBA members.

Most recently, Sue became Chair of CHBA’s inaugural Women in Residential Construction Council (WIRCC) and is 2nd VP of the Ontario Home Builders' Association.
