CHBA-CO Leadership Awards 2026

The CHBA-CO Leadership Awards are a brand-new recognition program created to celebrate members who go above and beyond through their volunteer service, leadership and commitment to our Association and the residential construction industry.

These awards are rooted in the CHBA-CO community, giving members the opportunity to recognize and celebrate their peers for the impact they make in strengthening our Association and moving our industry forward.

Six awards will be presented in our inaugural year. Three awards are open for member nominations or entry:

  • Leadership Award
  • Connection Award
  • Blower Door Test of the Year

Three additional awards will be determined by CHBA-CO:

  • Rooftopper Award
  • Committee Chair Award
  • Volunteer of the Year

Nominations are open to representatives of CHBA-CO member companies in good standing. Awards will recognize contributions, activities and achievements occurring during the 2025/2026 award period, from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. Nominations will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Nominations for the Leadership and Connection Awards should include a brief submission of up to 500 words explaining how the nominee meets the award criteria. Self-nominations are not permitted for these categories.

Blower Door Test of the Year entries may be submitted by a CHBA-CO builder member or their Energy Advisor and must include the required verification documentation.

CHBA-CO reserves the right to verify eligibility and information submitted, and all award decisions are final. Award recipients will be announced at the 2026 CHBA-CO Annual General Meeting on October 15, 2026.

This award recognizes a member who demonstrates exceptional leadership, professionalism, and commitment to CHBA-CO and the residential construction industry. Nominees should lead by example, actively contribute to the association and inspire positive industry impact.


Criteria:


1. Leadership and Influence: Demonstrates strong leadership and leads by example within CHBA-CO and/or the industry while demonstrating consistent dedication, integrity and professionalism.

2. CHBA-CO Involvement: Actively participates in committees, events, initiatives, advocacy, mentorship or other association activities.

3. Industry Impact: Makes a meaningful and positive contribution to the residential construction industry.

4. Collaboration: Supports fellow members, builds relationships and encourages other to get involved.

5. Going Above & Beyond: Contributes time, knowledge, or expertise beyond what is expected.

This award recognizes a member who truly embraces the value of doing business within the CHBA-CO community by actively working with and supporting fellow members.


Criteria:


1. Consistency: Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to choosing and supporting fellow CHBA-CO members.

2. Member-to-Member Business: Works with members across different areas of the residential construction industry.

3. Relationship Building: Actively develops and maintains business relationships within the membership. Helps new members feel welcomed and connected to the association.

The Red Door Award recognizes a CHBA-CO builder member who demonstrates exceptional building performance through outstanding airtightness results. The award celebrates quality construction, energy efficiency and the collaboration between builders, Energy Advisors and trades that goes into achieving a high-performance home. 

Criteria:

1. Building Performance: Entries will be evaluated based on the project's verified Normalized Leakage Rate at 50 Pa (NLR50), with ACH50 also reported as part of the entry.

2. Minimum Performance: To be eligible for the Red Door Award, the project must achieve a verified airtightness result of 1.8 ACH50 or lower. Projects with results above 1.8 ACH50 are not eligible for submission.

3. Verification: Results must be supported by an EnerGuide Report or Step Code Compliance Report prepared by a qualified Energy Advisor.

4. Project Eligibility: The project must be located within the CHBA-CO service area and have received its final qualifying blower door test between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.

5. Membership: The builder must be a current CHBA-CO member in good standing.

Entry Requirements:

Entries may be submitted by the builder or the project's Energy Advisor and must include the project's EnerGuide Report or Step Code Compliance Report.
